# Hardfork - Upgrade EVM - Change chain ID We submit this proposal to upgrade IBC clients (change chain-id) on counterparties and halt Aura Xstaxy network to perform hardfork at specific block - 6,597,194 Estimated time: Friday, May 31st, 2024 - 13:00 UTC ## Changelog - Change Cosmos chain-id from **xstaxy-1** to **aura_6322-2**, EVM chain-id will be **6322** - Integrate EVM module from Tharsis Labs Ltd.(Evmos) - Integrate EVMutil module from Kava Labs, Inc ## Introduction Since its inception, Aura has functioned as a permissioned CosmWasm app chain, with a primary focus on NFT and mass adoption solutions. We already introduced a native account abstraction module and constructed a cohesive stack of infrastructure applications to support these solutions. Now, it is time for Aura to transition into its second phase, embracing the growth of the web3 developer community by adopting the most widely used smart contract engine globally - EVM. Aura is officially partnering with EVMOS to integrate the latest upgrade from the Ethermint Virtual Machine. This significant upgrade signifies a major shift in Aura's narrative. Transitioning from a permissioned app chain, Aura now operates as a permissionless and interoperable general-purpose layer. Aura now supports both CosmWasm and EVM smart contracts, enabling the deployment of all DApps with ease. With a built-in modular architecture, developers can also create a new generation of DApps that support native AA in either Wasm or EVM. This solves the interoperability problem where developers can freely choose their favorite environment to deploy their dapps. More dapps mean more traffic, more TVL and revenue generated. Web3 users who are already familiar with EVM UX can have a much easier transition time to the Aura ecosystem.
